I do not believe the ipad is going to start a new type of computer.
The ipad is honestly nothing special, its just a quick and easy to use device which as surfaced because of the ipod fad. Touch screen really isnt that great, and the ipad is no expection to that. People do not want to spend a good 700 + dollars constantly because they have to repace their screen.
I also believe that , because the ipad is not flash enabled, that it would actually add it on later on. Flash is, rather people like it or not ,a big chunk of money for investors and programmers. Flash is used somehow on most websites and minigames, and without flash... they would have to recreate an entire program just for the ipad. I mean really, thats sort of ridicious.
Lastly, why would anyone want to carry an a big square computer around like that. Lap tops are convient , but much easier to use than a giant i pad. With its constant on screen touching, that screen is going to just mess up. The ipad is going to be easily dropped, and i dont think it can hold too much memory.
but..thats my opinion. >.>
